Easy hike with a toddler near Denver, Colorado

Last weekend my family and I tried a new trail near Denver called Ponderosa trail. It is located in Evergreen and its part of the Alderfer/Three Sisters Park; which has many other paths offering a variety of outdoor activities.

Why to try this trail
We decided to take the Ponderosa route because it is just about a 1.7 miles loop. We liked it for many reasons; first of all, our toddler is getting use to his backpack carrier; thus, we didn't want it him to start complaining due to a long hike. Also, this is a great trail for people who are visiting the Mile High City and are not yet use to high elevations which carry out different effects on the human body. For instance, the descents and ascents are gradually shaped, with an elevation of about 565 feet; and therefore is a fairly easy and pleasant hike.

Furthermore, if comparing the Denver climate with Evergreen, the latter is much more enjoyable, as it is a warm humid continental climate; which allows for a bigger variety of vegetation while more mature trees keep the family comfortable during the hike.

Relatedly, you could observe and enjoy wildflowers and feel surrounded by a beautiful forest typical of the region.
