My Islamic New Year adventure (Part 2)

And so to continue my day’s adventure from my previous post....

At 5:30PM Papa, Mama and I were on the road again. 30 minutes later, we were at the park - The Mussafa Park. Ninang Arlyn was already busy grilling fish and pork which she marinated for some few good hours in soy sauce and lemon. She is really good in cooking too.

We walked around the park with Kuya Dwayne. It has 4 basketball courts which were already packed with players. You can see Filipinos everywhere. Grilling, playing basketball, talking with friends or just simply sitting in the grass enjoying the view. Summer heat starts to cool down. I just wish winter will be here so soon. Do you know it rains here twice a year? Yes in the desert! Mama was really happy when she experienced rain here the first time. 😊 The first one before season changes from summer to winter, then the second, before summer sets in.

Ninang called us for dinner. Everyone gathered on the shed where a mat was placed at the center with our food. The smell of the freshly grilled seam-bream fish is so inviting.

While we were having our dinner, cats were outside of the shed probably waiting for some scraps. Mama gave them some of the leftovers. More cats came. Ooooppps!! Sorry kitties. Mama got no more food.

It was time to go home. We are all tired from an early morning adventure at the beach and this evening at the park and besides, I ran out of milk too because Mama brought only 2 bottles of milk. She underestimated an active tot running around at the park to not finish the 2 8-oz bottled milk in just 4 hours.

On our way home, as I was drifted to sleep in my carseat, Mama captured this beautiful illuminated mosque. Our Muslim brothers call this The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.This is the largest mosque in UAE, the 3rd in the world. This is also the resting place of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of UAE and the founder of this mosque.
