Profound parenting value of the day....patience
At any given point, our youngsters are exploring, playing, conniving, fighting, chundering, being destructive...we all know how quick we can be to explode as parents - after all we have said 5 times in the last hour "don't pull your sisters hair", "you can only color on paper", "don' eat that paint" or whatever it is...
My exhortation to you today is be patient.
For every moment of irritation and explosion we have had as parents - we have also had wins. And we can usually trace those wins back to a moment of patience where we stopped and got down on a 5 year old level and helped our youngster learn why they can't eat paint.
Our kids will interrupt our agendas todays - but there will never come a time where you say to yourself -
"wow wish I was less patient with my kid"
Be awesome today - and build powerful kids that make a mark on history - you are the only one for the job
Parenting is the most important job we will ever have. You are correct. we will never look back and regret being too patient, with our kids, and with everyone. Great advice. Upvoted and resteemed.

This is so true! It can be trying but taking a deep breath and waiting just a few seconds before responding can change the moment into one that is treasured. It's amazing what you find out when talking to them and asking why they are doing something. It can be funny, touching and a chance to teach them something valuable. Way to go Dad!

@breakthtough, love the line: "wow wish I was less patient with my kid"
We need to been flexible enough to be available in the moment. We need to be structured enough to have time and resources to be available in the future. Fun balance!
Great advice! We'll be featuring this article a little later today in a post centered around fathers.
