Another Milestone Unlocked!
When you become a housewife, I discovered, that the cause of your happiness changes over time. You'll find that you suddenly become happy for that 10 seconds of staring at cleanliness after you cleaned the entire house. And you cherish those seconds because for sure the curious little toddler would have scattered the lego bricks shortly after you've put the broom and and mop back in place.
The other day, I feel so happy and fulfilled because my daughter has achieved another milestone. She is now potty trained! Woot! Woot!
It was a bit challenging to teach a two year old toddler how to use the potty but I found out that you just have to literally talk to them. They do listen! Haha! Sometimes I feel like I'm just repeating myself over and over again but she does listen!
I tried potty training her a few months ago but it did not work. It turns out I was doing the training wrong. So here are a few things I learned.
- Provide clear and easy to understand instructions. There's nothing too complicated with potty training, I figured. lol
- Show her. Even if you're not going to potty, still show her how it's done. Children learn by imitating. On a different note, now that you're aware that they're watching, be careful of your actions.
- Trust her. I thought she won't learn that easy. On our second try of potty training, she was able to learn in the second day!
I guess she's really ready to learn a whole lot of new things! It makes me so happy she's already growing up. But tI guess she's really ready to learn a whole lot of new things! It makes me so happy she's already growing up. But then I realized, my baby is already getting ready for childhood. She's growing up too fast. I hope I can keep up with her. Well, no matter how much she grows, I know in my heart if hearts that she will always be my little baby girl.
