How to find a Paranormal friend to haunt your home for fun and profit (comedy)steemCreated with Sketch.

This can be you!

First of all, I'm no expert, however, I love research. Having a ghost in your living space can be very uncomfortable, even frightening, to most people. Since the dawn of man, or at least since the first deceased person, there are countless of stories of ghosts that have been depicted primarily as messengers or guides. Like the three ghosts to Ebeneezer Scrooge or Obi Wan Kenobi to Luke, ghosts can be helpful. However, finding the perfect Paranormal friend can be very challenging.

Ghost's, at one point, has been there for us. To guide us through the thick and thin! What happened?

We don’t see Luke freaking out when Obi Wan appeared to him as a spirit.

Hamlet didn’t lose his shit when his dad appeared as a Ghost.

Recent TV shows make ghost out to be mischief makers, body snatchers, destroyers of kitchens and slammer of doors.

Ghosts went from entities of wisdom to invisible assholes.

Ghost are like, literally, everywhere.

There could be one aggressively doing the 'worm' right next to you and you wouldn't even know. Ghosts feed off of our emotions and fear. Most ghost will often attach to people until they’ve gotten what they need from you and then leave you in the dust for another victim. Let me say, that if you cannot find a ghost, a ghost will find you.

However, not all ghosts are bad.

Well, at least not in their realm. We may be sharing the same realities, the here and now, but we are hardly sharing each other’s space, the ups, the downs, the side to sides and everywhere in between. Ghost live on routine. You have to be careful not to attract a ‘Repeater” Ghost. They tend to get frustrating, messy, loud, and restless. Repeater’s love hanging out with people under financial distress, especially couples with children and a Labrador, living on their second mortgage, trying to piece their lives back together. You all heard the story before, time and time again. Add a paranoid uncle with substance abuse challenges and a temper, it always ends up with them losing everything.

Ghosts are not stupid. This is not Hollywood, where you could fool a ghost with theatrics to psych them out.

Use this guide with the greatest of caution. Do not think for one moment that they are gonna be your friend. I cannot take responsibility for your actions and/or what may happen to you. These are only suggestions.

A Really Short Guide to Find that Perfect Ghost and Make Some Serious Cash: Part One

Finding a Ghost

In order to have a ghost as a full time friend or foe, most likely, the ghost will find you.
Surprisingly, there are a whole bunch of ways to find a ghost, and you don't have to dye your hair, wear studded jeans or even have a film crew to do it. You may need to find a few peeps to help you along the way, but it's probably best to do this alone. But you need to be prepared for it. Do some research on areas that are haunted. This will be the hardest step to do, because from what I've been told, there is no shortage in hauntings.

As a precaution, make sure you tell a few people of your whereabouts of your adventure before leaving your home. Most mobile phones have GPS and location sharing. Make sure you share your location with a few of your trusted friends. Safety first.

I suggest finding a friendly ghost that is willing to make a sudden change in their After Life. Universities and libraries are pretty quiet places to find some top notch ghosts. There's always some ghost of a professor or scholar that 'Roam these halls’. I haven’t heard of a ghost that was a complete imbecile when they were alive.

“Oh, there's ol Hordy Mumfle having trouble again with the door! You were never the smartest tool in the shed, Hodo! Your a GHOST curse you! Out you fool! OUT!!” Hordy stumbles over a lamp falling through the door with a loud thump.

As a precaution, you may want to be careful when searching in places of War and Violence, because most of these ghosts are stuck in a limbo state.

Avoid spirits that were known killers, rapists, thieves or politicians. You wouldn't want to end up bringing some kitchen destroying poltergeist or demon contortionist with you. Avoid dark shadows and ghost teens with long hair over their faces, they will only disappoint you while sucking your soul dry and that would be no bueno.
<-- Tell THIS douchebag to jog on.

The Ghost that you will probably would want to look for are the ones that were good decent people. Finding the right match will take a while, so take your time getting solid leads before heading out to look for ghosts. Contrary to popular belief, ghosts haunt at all hours of the day. It doesn't matter. Ghosts rarely have any need for sleep. I recommend early mornings than late nights. Now go and explore!

Communicating with a Ghost

Much like the previous step, there are a ton of different ways to communicate with ghosts (pictured above) and it's an Amazon Prime order away! What works the best is an EVP recorder (Electronic Voice Phenomena) to conduct your interview. If you're tight on some cash, then any device that could record audio, will work just fine.

Always assume ghosts are clearly aware of your presence. As I mentioned earlier; THEY KNOW. Also, this process takes time. Sometimes days or weeks. In rare cases, an entity will simply know you are seeking their presence and they will come to you. Whatever the case will be, you must make an effort to communicate with them with full honesty.

Do introduce yourself. You're asking it to be your friend. Make sure you don't show any type of doubt and fear, because most ghosts can sense that right away and start messing with your shit real quick. Last thing you want is an angry ghost. Remember, you're on their turf, so approach with the utmost respect. don't shout or yell, they're practically omnipresent, so assume they're not deaf. If they tell you to leave, don't argue, announce that you are leaving and move on.

When you finally hear an EVP and understood what they've said, then you must answer right away while your recording and continue with your next question. Keep the interview going for a few minutes with breaks in between. When you feel like it's a good match, then verbally invite them to follow you. Speak to them as if they agreed to hangout with you. Always check your recorder, in case things go south and the end up showing you how they died.

Then it's back to the drawing board. :/

Bringing it on home

So, assuming that your new ghost friend has gained your trust and decide to followed you, just be sure you have constant communication with the Ghost until you are at home and there is a response back on the EVP. If so, you're in!

If you lose site of your ghost or it's unresponsive, keep up with the recorder. Be sure you share your plans to come. Explain what your place looks like and how you want to introduce them to your friends. Be sure to really paint a very detailed image for your ghost to feel comfortable with the transition. It's best to keep repeating yourself constantly, because ghosts tend to be forgetful and fall back into routine, like hanging from that tree. Again. :/

Be on the look out for the second segment of this guide!

I will show you how to keep your ghost happy, benefits of having a friendly ghost as a friend, have your ghost doing chores around the house, making and saving money with a ghost and precautions.

Also a bonus section for the best exit strategy when things don't go well and how to handle a situation in the event that your Ghost falls in love with you.
