Bucharest , the haunted capital of Romania(part 2)
We continue our tour through Little Paris-Bucharest a city well known for its hauntings and ghost stories.
The Pond of the Witches is a pond just outside Bucharest in Boldu-Creteasca forest .It’s a meeting place where witches gather to make their rituals. Legends say that here Vlad-Tepes ,known as Dracula, was beheaded after he was betrayed. Animals are scared of this place. You won’t find a frog that lives in this pond.

Bazilescu Park was known in the past as Nicolae Balcescu Park. It was built on land given to the city by lawyer Bazilescu. Inside the park you can find the Summer Theatre built in 1953 for the World Festival of Youth and Students. When night falls , you can hear strange sounds and the coughing of a man(who, some say , is Mr. Bazilescu)coming from the park .

The Devils House on Praporgescu Street is another terrifying place. People say that a demonic entity full of hatred and anger took over the house. They also say that in this building two women were killed and in the nights with full moon the number “666” mysteriously appears on the wall of the building.

Perfume Street hosts the house where once lived a famous poet called Ilarie Voronca a close friend to George Calinescu(Romanian author).He killed himself in 1946 after he was left by his mistress. His restless spirit ,said the locals ,haunts the building where he once lived.
Bucharest has also stories about ghost cars. Stories about ghost buses with no travellers on board that can take you, if you dare , from the Northern railway Station to Rosetti.The ghost buses have no drivers ,but the ride is free. Bucharest has even haunted subway tunnels and animal ghosts that haunt Obor Market(famous place in Bucharest where animals are sacrificed).
