Stop forwarding the enemy line
Being a citizen journalist involves getting attention so I'm not sure what I'm about to say is going to have any effect.
Stop forwarding the enemy line. You are doing his work for him.
What I mean by this is, you need to stop reporting on events that intimidate your side. Alex Jones is a perfect example of this. He turns situations into such dire straits that after you listen to him for an hour you think your door is about to be broken down and a SWAT team is about to pour in. Yeah, I like Alex a lot but I cannot listen to him for very long without becoming paranoid.
Are you afraid to walk down the street with a MAGA cap on? Why? It's because you've read too many articles about people getting attacked. The odds are though, you'll be just fine, but the press has inflated the fear. It's really stupid to do the enemy's work for him: you are helping to intimidate Americans.
But what am I supposed to do, not report on bad news? Yeah, that's exactly what you should not do. Look at a situation and ask yourself, "Is this really something that people need to worry about or am I just trying to get attention as a citizen journalist to up the popularity of my channel. Is this fear porn or is it something people truly have to worry about?"
Since you yourself are probably brainwashed into being afraid, you'll probably think it's important to report on the latest, "Trump supporter has MAGA stolen on NYC subway". I think it's stupid, especially since it's already been reported many times. Announcement: You missed the scoop.
If you're going to report on something negative for your side, turn it into something positive. "Wisconsin man wins $100,000 lawsuit after MAGA hat stolen". You know, make it something that is going to not intimidate your side. Concentrate on wins, not losses. We have to accept that journalism in this time is biased, that those who report "the News" are going to slant it. It's not more like a court room where each side is an advocate. However, I'm not telling you to lie, just reconsider what you consider newsworthy.
