How To Add Binance Smart Chain To MetaMask If Your Getting pancake swap v2 Unsupported Chain Id Error!

Hi people heres my guide to adding binance smart chain mainnet and testnet chains to Metamask in my simple to follow guide!

MetaMask can be downloaded on Chrome and Firefox, or on iOS and Android if you’re a mobile user.

Please download METAMASK for your chosen browser and install it on your platform and create a new wallet and write down your seed and keep it some where safe i suggest writeing it on paper in a plastic wallet stored in a metal box. You should now be able to see your new wallet and etherum address and are ready to send and recieve funds from your new address.

You might notice straight away that we’re still dealing with a standard Ethereum wallet. this won’t work with Binance Smart Chain,DApps,Pancake swap. At worst, you could lose funds by sending them to addresses you can’t actually use.

now you need to click on your account logo to the right of ethereum mainet drop down menu then once in there go into settings then go to the networks menu and then click add network thats to your top right of the page

Please add the following to setup the binance smart chain testnet (this is only used for testing purposes you will use the mainnet) Network Name: Smart Chain - Testnet New RPC URL: https://data-seed-prebsc-1-s1.binance.org:8545/ ChainID: 97 Symbol: BNB Block Explorer URL: https://testnet.bscscan.com Once added please remember to click save at the bottom

Please add the following to setup the binance smart chain mainnet (This is the one you will be useing to swap tokens) Network Name: Smart Chain New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/ ChainID: 56 Symbol: BNB Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com Once added please remember to click save at the bottom

Right that is it we are all done adding the binance smart chains to your new meta mask wallet you can now click meta mask in your top left corner to go back to your wallet. If you now click the drop down menu to the top right of the page that says Ethereum Mainet you will now see Smart Chain - Testnet and Smart Chain networks buy clicking these networks you can see your BNB coin totals .

Remember you will be useing the Mainnet not Testnet If you want you can go to Binance Testnet Faucet and enter your BnB testnet address and you can recieve upto 6.5 coins onto the Testnet network for testing purposes then change your network to smart chain mainnet and your done. 6. Thats it you can return to pancake swap v2 and your wallet should be already synced if not just click connect on the top right of the page in pancake swap and connect to your Metamask wallet and the select your BNB account you just created Now you all ready to go to start tradeing on pancake swap!
