The atomic bomb as the protagonist of 1945 - 2018

in #panarchy6 years ago (edited)

To explain a range of events from 1945 to the present, my best guess is that this period in human history behaved as a religion, "nukeism" or similar, rooted in a phobeplex, fear of this new force of nature, a new global schelling point and the human species learning to live with this new form of fire, and during that period of integrating the technology, a number of events from new master-slave relationships, like the coup in the USA in 1963, the Dream of Apollo by NASA and Stanley Kubrick in 1969, the "war on drugs" in 1971, "war on terror" in 2001 (also triggered by the internet as a technology that opens-up the world), and the CIAs Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI) program in the early 21st century.

"Globalism" would be a natural emergence from nuclear weapons, i.e. a natural reaction, nature itself conspiring (con + spire) to re-organize.

When fire was first harnessed 3 million years ago, from magma around lake Turkana (Medler, 2015), our ancestors burnt up the forest where Serengeti is today, now populated by wildebeest whose fossil date back to lake Turkana as well (Harris et al. 1988; Harris 1991), and zebra that can be traced back to Danakil (Aramis, 4.4 Ma), and over time, our species gradually learnt to live with their new cybernetic extension, and nuclear would be an example of how history rhymes.

The atomic age needs state-technology such as Ethereum and BitLattice

A distributed ledger cannot be coerced, and so is resistant to threats of nuclear weapons, it is very open to the notion of nuclear deterrence theory, game theory, and similar things, and a natural step in the evolution towards panarchy, where voluntary organization outcompetes terror balances, because it is able to capture more attention.

thanks for this great post

Nice research on atomic bomb and nuclear weapon is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or from a combination of fission and fusion reactions.

It only use for destruction nothing else. They should understand that they harm not only a country and a people but also they harm ourself coz, all things is connected to each other.

No, nuclear fission is used to power things as well, similar to fire which can be used to burn things and also to power things. Building a nuclear weapon is trivial unless there is active sabotage to prevent it, and it has never been possible and will never be possible to prevent people from harnessing nature in ways that are weaponised, even if sabotage is attempted it will fail, most house holds have lots of knives in them but people don't stab each other for that, so to me it seems to have been a process in the past 70 years of learning to live with nuclear fission, accepting it as a natural part of the world, and since nuclear weapons are global weapons whereas fire or a kitchen knife is not, has led to properties that are similar to religion, "nukeism" and "globalism" overlap in many ways.

Not particularly interested in politics since it is being replaced this decade and next, but based on the idea of nuclear deterrence theory it is beneficial to the equilibrium that North Korea are, since they have experience of being a proxy war between two nuclear powers in the Korea war between 1950-1953, acquiring nuclear weapons of their own, that is game theoretically very much aligned with the science, as in, having nuclear weapons deters others from using them.

this need to adopt to something new with changing time
