Always Be Prepared
Today Was One of Those Days!
@AnaHilarski and I left the house early this am after completing the majority of our tasks online. We went to Punta Chame to shoot some footage for the new Bitcoin rap video by @DollarVigilante. The day was absolutely gorgeous and the two of us enjoyed each others company as we played in the Pacific ocean taking some pics and video.
We Headed Home and Arrived to a Neighborhood Without Power.
Now this didn't bother me much. We just showered and picked up Mom before we went gambling at the casino to avoid the heat. Two hours pass and we think it is time to head home, surely power will have come back on by now. Nope, still no power my APC's are 100% drained, my computer is down to 20% and my mobile is down to 40%. This really stinks!
Now I have to head to the grocery store and stock up on ice for the fridge and buy another box of candles because it will be dark soon. Bummer, I was planning on writing a really cool article with footage of a giant stingray that I was close to at the beach.
I'm glad Jeff is writing some new rhymes. He did perform at the first two Anarchapulcos... People like seeing that other side of him.
It's a weird thing about the power. I thought I was a genius when I moved to Mexico and my power bill in Guadalajara came to about $5 for two months... Then when the rainy season started and the power went out for 12 hours at a time it was a different story. Good luck.
By the way, thanks again for thinking of me and doing what you could when I was locked up. I'm very grateful.
No problem Brotha!
My favorite thing to do when the power goes out is eat all the ice cream from the freezer. You never know how long the outage is going to be, and you should never let good ice cream go to waste!
Bwahahaha, I did exactly that. We had two ice cream sandwiches.
How frequent is it to have power outages down there ?
Once a month for a short time is normal. Today's outage is really rare.
Used to be once or twice a month where I live, they have been upgrading the grid, still have spotty service, why I use a GE Surge Protector.
you seem to be having a great day out :)
and BTW beautiful Quote :)
Dammit, now I have to wait for you to write it later! Stingrays is my thing! :(
Wow! Beautiful couple! Nice photos :D
Sucks about the power, but I see only the positives:
Hope your power is back and you guys are all juiced up again brother!
Hahaha, I guess you were not prepared to see your gadgets power drained that much. Anyways, candles make some kind of illumination that may inspire some unique idea. Steemon @hilarski
Hahahahaha. This happens :)
Hey, I have not bought one yet, but I have a PowerFilm solar panel setup on my save for later Amazon list. There are a lot of options in that area, and that one has been narrowed down after a lot of research. It's something to consider at least. The setup isn't exactly cheap, but it will keep small devices and even a laptop running.
Here in Virginia we've lost power for nine days in a row before due to a snow storm. I'm always prepared for an electrical outage. My main computer will not work, but we'll be warm and safe at least. I want the solar setup eventually though to keep at least a laptop and the Internet running (tethered to a cell phone if no ISP).
Can you tether to your cell phone there?
Yup, my cell is how I am still working. Apparently it is a mix up at the power company. They say we have not paid in six months but thanks to Ana she kept all the receipts. It might take until next week to get back on so we are going on an unplanned vacation to a hotel until then.
You two are looking to buy/build in the future right? Hopefully when you do, you'll be able to go off grid when needed! :)
I just bought 1K worth of SP and now have a slider!!! /jig I feel like a big dog now. Woof, woof! haha
Are all your pets outdoor or are you bringing them with you?
