Here in my neighborhood it's day 42 of lockdown and here we are guys are really tired of the lockdown that they have organised a football tornament among themselves not minding warnings from the government and it's agencies about the risk associated with Corona virus.
Do the people also complement government effort in fighting the pandemic?
Or is it that the people are just tired and they just want to go back to livng thier normal lives
In a small neighborhood in a state located in the northern part of Nigeria it felt like so. Recently there had being a steady rise in confirmed cases of Corona virus in the country which if not country. The government effort even though not enough but commendable in trying to contain the spread, this then bring us to the citizens and a serious question that we should ask ourselves as citizens, do we compliment the government effort in fighting off this pandemic.
In this small neighborhood that has being on on lockdown for close to six (6) weeks now,here seems to be my observation and conclusion
See those pictures up there yes those pictures, they are pictures of guys playing football without any form of care or protection of themselves against possible spread. No social distancing observed, no use of facemask or sanitizer just people living risky.
I know it's really had this lockdown and all but if you compare it to possible death as a result of Corona virus, which would you choose
I on my part love football so much (a Liverpool fan) and I miss football as much as any other person but we are in a time we have to corporate with the government so as to end this pandemic once and for all
On a lighter note though, the football was amazing I the more I watched it yesterday the more I was wishing inside of me for this pandemic to come to an end. Oh how I have missed the "normal life"
The game ended in a 6-1 scoreline though
