Ugh, I feel your pain. I did this to my finger about 10 days ago, also in the kitchen:
That said, you've got me beat hands down. Cleaning the yard after the dog is as far as I go with crap. :) And there is no way I will touch a spider. Nope. No way. I'm a wimp when it comes to spiders, I'll admit it.
Now that cake looks awesome. Makes a lot of the rest of it worthwhile, I bet. :)

ooooh ouchie - yeas it is never fun LOL
I was supposed to go for stitches, but it happened on a Sunday night, and the hospitals are far from the farm I live on... Also given the state of the hospitals where I live, I had a better chance braving it on my own LOL
firstly - it is cow crap so it is not smelly shit (at least)
secondly - technically it is not a REAL spider LOL
and lastly - That cake was down-right awesome! (I finally did something right :D)
lol! Well, I suppose you're right about the crap, but it's still a dirty job. Of course, I've been pampered living in a city my entire life.
It doesn't matter if it isn't a real spider, it'd probably make me jump up onto a chair and scream like a little child. lol! I have a hard time even looking at them in a zoo!
Hope your finger is doing better now. :)
hahahaha city folk crack me up ... But then again I wouldn't be able to survive in the city, I would probably get mugged in the first minute LOL AND THE TRAFFIC - here if there are 5 cars at the robot in peak traffic I get nervous
