The Mountain Top

in #palnet5 years ago

Every peak begins at the bottom
looking up. The climber stares at the formidable path and mentally prepares for the trek upwards. To begin, the climber believes that they are able to succeed. The first step marks the last and muscles respond to the brains signal to begin.

The obstacles encountered must be evaluated as they appear; rocks, ridges, gaps, fallen trees and brush. A stumble, a fall, and the climber decides the goal is still attainable, reachable, desirable and still beckons with a siren's call in their heart. The blood pounds in the climber's ears; loud, rushing, insistent, sometimes a faint whisper.

Lost, alone, cold, frightened, but the peak looms closer and closer. The risks grow more real and the path is filled with brambles and blockage. The question takes shape, "Can this barrier be overcome?"

Courage rises again and the next step is filled with new and deeper resolve. The mind filters out the cold and shuts out niggling doubt that took root and festered at the first fall.

The wound pulses but is ignored. All things are worth suffering for one view of the valley.

The final step is met with a changed soul. The heart enlarges as the view below meets the climber's eyes.

It was worth every sacrifice.

This journey ends in majesty and ends are just beginnings to new mountain trails.

Nicely done and a perfect final sentence. ends are just beginnings to new mountain trails....... for life is a series of enormous mountains to be scaled and ofttimes when you reach the top the weather has clouded over and you can't see a damned thing;)

Lol I agree, @deirdyweirdy. Thanks for stopping!

I congratulate you since you have described how the road to success should be, overcoming the obstacles you encounter when climbing the top.
According to your story, I recommend this YouTube video in which the climbing to the Tepuy Acopan called by the natives the mountain of the gods (the story is in Spanish). Here is the link I hope you like it.

I hope that you are feeling better!!!

Thank you. One day at a time. @mariannewest!
