Using 10 Tags - The Mystery Resolved!
Using 10 tags instead of 5... I had seen those posts around. However, it took me up until today to figure out how it could be done.

The Right Tags
Using the right tags for your posts is important if you want your content to get seen.
Since the appearance of all those new communities - and the attached tokens that can be earned - the limitation of 5 tags became a real problem.
People wanted to earn as many tokens possible, so instead of topic-related tags, they started using token-related tags. As a result, a lot of posts did not reach the people who were interested in a certain niche.
I came across a post about gardening that had the following tags underneath:
#palnet #neoxian #newsteem #naturalmedicine #busy
I assume I don't need to explain that this post never reached its targeted audience.

The Mystery Of The 10 Tags
A couple of days ago, I started noticing that some posts had more than 5 tags attached to it. At first, I didn't pay too much attention to it, but since I experienced more and more trouble limiting my number of tags to only 5, I became curious.
This morning, I accidentally bumped into a post that solved the mystery.
Why it's important to use good tags for your post by @thebluewin
It's a very interesting post to read.
In the comments section, I found the clue I was looking for:
All SCOT tribes allow you to use 10 tags!
When you're publishing through one of the new platforms, like Neoxian, Palnet, Steemace etc., you will notice that in the tag-field there still is a message that you can only use 5 tags. Apparently, this is just a display error. In reality, you can add 10 tags.
I suggest you make use of this option to make sure your posts reaches your target audience.
One more important note, though: pay attention to the order of your tags!!

Since the SteemIt platform only takes the first 5 tags into consideration, you should use your first 5 tags to categorize your post on SteemIt, so it can be found by the people who are interested in your topic.
EDIT: you can now also use 10 tags when using SteemSpeak!

That's a great help! Thanks
You're welcome
Mystery solved alright, now we all know how to do it thanks to you!
I'm afraid I've found out there's more to it than that...
The SCOT interfaces somehow mess up the order of your tags, and since I kinda value categorization over tokens, the solution doesn't seem to be a solution at all... :0(
Oh dear.... That's too bad.
Thanks. This was helpful.
Thanks, but I'm not so sure anymore.... It seems like the other sites are switching the order of the tags...
Excellent information - thank you for sharing!

Holy shit, really? I didn't know!!! Thanks so much for sharing that <3
By now, you already know that the other sites don't respect the order of your tags, so I'm not sure it is that helpful. :0(
not sure what that means??

Oooh... Lots of tags! I wonder if it works with steempeak? I would hate to move from my favourite interface...
Nope.
And don't bother trying it out. I've posted through palnet twice now, and for some reason, they mess up the order of my tags.
I asked around and it seems like the other sites are doing the same.
I think this is only useful if you are in control about which tags are in the first 5 spots.
I think I'll leave it as is and go back to writing in Steempeak, posting through busy and using only 5 tags. At least they give me an upvote. 😉
Thanks!!

You're welcome. Pay attention, though. The new sites tend to switch the places of your tags.
Thanks

Hi @simplymike, as an existing MAPX token stakeholder, you just received an upvote and this quick note about some free tokens for you.
We are giving away 5 ONECENT tokens to each of our stakeholders.
To claim them, please go to this post and leave a comment. That's it!
Many Thanks from MAPX!
This is extremely helpful! Thank you for sharing!

I don't get the 5 tag limitation. I think that's hindering the platform a lot. I think 10 tags is a lot more reasonable. I find myself leaving out important tags for my posts simply because I cannot add anymore. 😑
ActiFit allows me to add a lot of tags. The other interfaces should follow their steps.
It's like your forced to do segment-marketing while you don't want to. I mean, even without all the SCOT-tokens and sites I felt limited by the number of tags.
Unfortunately, I thought I had found the answer by discovering how to use 10 tags, but I didn't.
I've posted through palnet twice now, and for some strange reason, the order of the tags is changed when I publish my post, and I can't change them back again. It's useless if I can't decided which tags come first :0(
I still value categorizing over tokens
