RE: DOWNVOTING
True in many cases and I stand convicted of participating in that type of behavior in the past. I have no excuses for that behavior on my part either.
I must continue to do self-talk and tell myself...
Self, it is not about what others do, but what I do.
Often after going on a rant or just being plain nasty, I hear my father's voice...
Son, two wrongs don't make a right.
I live in a glass house and have argued with others and at times have been part of the problem, not the solution. Then again I am an attention hog!
Showmanship and one-upmanship also come into play. The social media elements put us all on a stage. That makes walking away without defending yourself difficult. It's tough to let things slide. That's something I work on daily. I can be hot-headed at times and don't really have much of a filter. That can be a bad combo for both parties.
I am also a hot-head, but I state the obvious. Tact has never been one of my strong points. Then again because of my direct way of speaking and my tongue being in second gear before my brain kicks in, I am many times misunderstood.
I really need to continue on working on that flaw in my character. Then again we are all a work in progress, no?
