A Weekday Walk
A Canada flag tied to a hockey stick - it doesn't get anymore Canadian then that. I saw this the other day on a walk down by a pier with my wife and her grandfather. I got a laugh out of it and had to take a picture.
Her grandfather lives in a condo just off of lake Ontario and there is a nice walking trail outside his residence that leads to a pier and the cities downtown area.
I personally do not own a boat or live anywhere near water so I dont often get a chance to walk by the pier, but that seems to be a theme for me this summer. With there being so many impressive boats docked in the marina though, I must say, its a really great place to take pictures.
I really like the look of the masts of the sail boats against the sky. They remind me of random sticks propped up in the air.
I also find the reflection of the boats in the water to be pretty cool as well.
My wifes grandfather lives on the 17th floor of the condo building. I'm always impressed by the view whenever I go to visit him. With binoculars you can actually see the Rogers center and the CN tower in Toronto in the distance across the water.
You can also often see the large cargo ships crossing the lake. In the picture above thats what the tiny spec is in the top right corner.
The ships are massive despite it looking tiny in the distance. I zoomed in as much as I could with my phone but the photo just doesnt quite do it justice lol.
wow, this is an super cool view! mine is at one of the larger city canals in Amsterdam; nice for sure, but certainly doesn't come even close to the view from your grandfather-in-laws condo! he is blessed!
Yes, he is quite lucky. I myself have never lived in a condo with a view. Its pretty cool being so high up though. I doubt it is something you would ever get tired of. Your view of the canals dounds pretty cool as well. I bet its good for people watching
