RE: A New T Shirt that may get itself purchased for me to wear.
Well they think he tore a knee ligament so is there any natural things we can give him? He sure is wonderful for putting up with me, I agree!
The original anti inflammatory medicine is what made him sick and messed his whole digestive system up. They gave us a different one to use now. We don't have any tumeric.
That is tough! Splint it and use Comfrey poltices or fomentations. They will speed healing.
Tumeric is easy to find, I get mine at an India spice store, but walmart has it too. If you have trouble, I can send you some of both.
:'(We don't know how to splint it. The vet said they can do a splint but it is a custom designed one for his particular leg and costs $700 but there is no guarantee that he won't chew it up or chew it off and then that money would be wasted. What's a fomentation?
It seems like he would just lick off anything we put on there.
Anything that will disable the leg's movement is good. A simple cast is cheap, and would work.
A fomentarion is a pad, saturated with tincture, that is kept moist, and taped to the damaged area overnight.
I used two last night myself.
:)>Would a splint act like a cast and allow him to get around?
Both will restrict movement. It is a tradeoff for healing to occur!
Well I've seen dogs walking with casts on and at least they can walk around. But if you had a cast you wouldn't be able to apply the comfrey.
They commonly make casts with openings for wound access. Better if you have the fur shaved around the damaged tendon too.
:)>So if they put a cast on after surgery we can still apply the comfrey for faster healing?
