Hi Steemit family!

Today I bring you the life and work of an artist who is not among us but has left an impressionable artistic legacy and study guide for generations of artists in the future, I'm talking about the German artist Martin Kippenberger, accompany me to learn a little about his talents.

source

Martin Kippenberger, was a multifaceted artist, as he not only painted but was a musician, sculptor and photographer, he is considered as one of the most controversial and talented post-World War II artists, he was part of an artistic group called the Bad Boys, who promoted German Neo-Expressionism, His artistic companions included Markus and Albert Oehlen, Georg Herold and Gunter Forg, his influences are varied from Pop Art Neo-Impressionism, given, I incorporate all kinds of materials. Although he always refused to be within a specific artistic current.

Born in Dortmund in 1953, he studied at the Hamburg Academy of Art in the early seventies. After a stay in Florence, he settled in Berlin in 1978 and founded a punk music group called the Grugas and recorded his first album, a single called Luxus, with Christine Hahn and Eric Mitchel. At the same time, he was also showing his first works in other arts.

source

In the 80's he moved to Cologne, although he traveled to other places such as Los Angeles, Seville, and Madrid, during his last years of life he was a professor at the Frankfurt Academy of Art and the Academy of Art in Kassel.

source

His art expanded to several countries, his first exhibition was in 1986 at the Hessisches Landesmuseum in Darmstadt, Germany, and years later he managed to mount his works in Paris 1993, at the Boymans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam in 1994 and at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Geneva, his last major exhibition.

source

His art has always been subjected to the most rigid art criticism, because of conceptual and controversial creations his creations always sought that, offense, polemic sometimes touching religious themes, making strong criticisms of religious morality, other works oriented to sexuality, One of his most controversial works is a crucified toad, which raised the wrath of many religious in Europe, although already in these days most of Europe is not a believer, and reasons have after centuries of indoctrination.

source

I particularly like his works dedicated to globalization, because it touches on deep issues of how the consumption of goods and services from distant countries have affected the culture of other countries erasing their origins, this is a subject that very few artists have portrayed as well as Kippenberger, perhaps could also be catalogued as pop works and a critique of pop art reconverted established icons into works of art. Commercial products that began to be overvalued as beauty, this is exactly the thin line of how to understand pop art from a critical point of view and that in the end was widely accepted by people who saw in the works a reflection of themselves, their consumption habits or how they see the symbols imposed on them in their countries through cinema or other forms of indoctrination that although they do not seem to be, they are only disguised as entertaining.

Hello @ashokcan143 notice is simple, when a human figure in this case is depersonalized, it means that the artist transcends that powerful barrier of the portrait to transmit other messages, in this case it can be a man trying to analyze himself.

I know you're trying your best to explain this picture, sorry i didn't understand even after your words.

Hi there, hope you are doing well my friend. Today I noticed a very interesting thing today. The thing is that around 11 months back I wrote an article here on steemit (Predict the no. of steemit followers), what was interesting about is that I took your followers no. as example data, and the simple algorithm predicted that after 301 days from the date of publish of my article you would have around9357 followers on steemit. Today I saw you have around 9331 followers, just a few days give or take.
Pretty astonishing, isn't it.
