Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, this artist enjoys great acceptance and recognition both in his country and in other countries. One of the advantages of being a painter is that this type of art is universal and can be understood in any culture.
Course study of painting in the workshop of Araceli Vázquez Málaga. Simultaneously, he attends the National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón and the workshop of Pablo Bobbio.
He is known for his works of great dimensions such as murals and installations that are very difficult not to be seen by passers-by. His first installation was presented in 1989 and consisted of 800 cubes and from the beginning, he managed to give his personal touch the language that would characterize him from the beginning.
It is recurrent to find a resistance for representing real elements, reason why he resorts in an ingenious way not to exhibit anything of real life, using signs and symbols, but without stopping to have an order and a solid structure in the ideas, although in his beginnings he used to paint only one symbol for created painting, this means that little by little he was constructing all the ideas until having a complex system of symbols.
In the mid 90's he was in charge of planning the creation of a series of installations on walls where he represented the same ideas as on the canvas, but on a larger scale, initially using acrylic paint but then decided to change to a more versatile material the self-adhesive vinyl.
The intention of the works is to reform the perception of the spectator by formulating different possibilities in different architectural spaces.
Since 1991 he was present at several exhibitions in the Argentine capital while attending the montages of his works in Madrid, Monterrey, New York and Houston, has received various awards and distinctions such as the Harrods Award in Art, Gunther Hall, the Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture of Spain, Young Artist of the Year Award, awarded by the Association of Art Critics, Civitella Ranieri Foundation Scholarship and Constantini Award to name a few of the recognition that this great artist has had.
Pablo Siquier is the son-in-law of the president of Argentina, and as the political situation of the country is unstable due to the measures adopted by the president in economic matters, he has inadvertently fallen back on the life of the artist, losing much of his popularity. They have even damaged some of his works, which in my opinion is a violent and inadequate act, personal relations must be of total privacy for any person and free choice is above the interests of the admirers of an artist.
In spite of this critical moment the artist has continued innovating and creating, and against all bad prognosis, he has continued with his montages of different exhibitions of his new paintings, including some projects of a restoration of facades for houses and historical buildings of the Argentine capital and of the interior of the country.
