The quality of this artist will leave you with your mouth open, his aluminum sculptures are complicated and at first glance seem to have been made with a specialized automatic machine, but you're wrong, this artist does everything with his hands, using his thumbs to create sheets that become a true work of art, I'm talking about the American artist Noah Deledda.
His basic material are aluminum cans that more than one will have crushed with the foot, because they are very fragile and thin capable, you may think it is a robot, because perfection their pieces seem to be made with a machine, but in this publication you will see step by step how this great artist achieves his unique technique.
This is another artist who recycles materials, in this case, cans of soft drinks or beers that after having taken surely you would throw away the garbage not finding any use for them.
Noah's first step is a fine sanding of the paint surface commonly found on cans, then he subjects them to a polishing process until they are as shiny as a mirror. From that moment comes to magic, where the artist carefully uses his thumbs to make dents that discover geometric patterns that are gradually perfected, which has taken the artist years of trial and error.
The most important thing for Noah is that the process is completely manual and does not require any machine to make folds or dents faster, after many attempts, years of practice, has finally achieved it, always creating different patterns, all are simply fantastic, you notice the creativity to create countless designs with a precision and symmetry that gives the perfect balance to each masterpiece.
The main motivation of this artist is the ecology, millions of cans are manufactured year after year, after being drunk their contents immediately become garbage, people commonly do not give any use, and in the case of the most unconscious, kick them ceaselessly or crush them with their feet as a fun activity.
In this case, Noah is not far from crushing the cans, only showing that the cans can be crushed artistically. He found an afternoon of boredom and began what would become an art a few years later. The fact occurred in the backseat of a car traveling home from Orlando, and he had nothing to do. He had just finished a can of Red Bull and started playing with it.
So much so that I take a mental note and then continue with the same process. And who would have thought that a can of this artist is valued today at approximately $2,000.
Annually more than 13 tons of aluminum cans are produced, which are composed of rocks and toxic sediments that are highly polluting to the environment, although not all is lost, one of the most interesting things about aluminum is that it is 100% recyclable, since it does not lose any of its original components, and its recycling uses much less energy than is needed for its manufacture, and countries such as Brazil, recycles 97% of the aluminum it manufactures, this is a good percentage that other nations such as China which is the largest producer should follow as it does not even recycle 5% of those it produces.
