Cop Gets Raise After Being Accused Of Sexual Assault

The Justice Department is now reportedly investigating an officer who has been previously accused by at least 4 women of sexually abusing them while he was on the job.

The Miami-Dade State Attorney's office decided not to charge the officer who had been accused of sexual assault, harassment, as well as misconduct and allegations were dismissed as the untrustworthy rantings of gang members.

But even the state attorney's office has reportedly admitted that the prosecutor who had been assigned to the case allegedly didn't fully interview 3 of the alleged victims, yet their testimony was deemed illegitimate to secure a conviction.

Victims Of Human Trafficking

It's alleged that law enforcement suspected that the 4 women were victims of human trafficking which might make those individuals more vulnerable to coercion and less likely to be believed or helped.

According to one retired 30+ year veteran with the Miami-Dade Police Department, the similarity of complaints and volume of complaints, when mentioning the same officer, should've at least prompted a proper investigation or influenced the department to take disciplinary action.

“When you have multiple victims and they are all making similar allegations, that’s a lot of smoke,” - former head of the special investigations division with the Miami-Dade Police Dep. C. Nanney

Currently, that officer is said to be under investigation by federal authorities, the FBI public corruption squad and the U.S. Attorney's Office in Miami are the ones who are reportedly behind that investigation. It's claimed that the officer violated the civil rights of his alleged victims when he allegedly unlawfully detained them and pressured them for sex, they are currently building a criminal civil rights case against that individual.

“These victims [of sex trafficking] are often not seen as sympathetic by police or prosecutors,... But in reality they are our most vulnerable kids, runaway and homeless youths, children from minority and impoverished communities. It’s the reason traffickers and abusers prey on them. ... There’s no one looking out for them or caring about them and they’re the least likely to be believed if and when they do come forward. They are prime targets.” - attorney, Y. Vafa.

After allegations surfaced of supposed misconduct, it's reported that the officer was placed on paid administrative assignment at home, before he eventually returned to the office and returned to SWAT where he received a 5 percent pay increase and was recommended for a merit raise.

This was said to have taken place almost a year before the final report for the internal affairs investigation was even submitted.

M. Dacosta, one of the alleged victims, filed a lawsuit against the officer this year, also suing the city too, and it's reported that up until then the officer had still continued to be on the streets.

One spokesman for the police department has previously said that the chief didn't discipline the officer because the FBI had taken up the case, claiming to be working along with federal authorities to investigate that individual now. So far it's claimed that the city has sought to transfer the case to a federal court and they've tried to have the case against them dismissed a few weeks ago.

these are always tough for me to have an opinion about. I believe there is loads of corruption that exists in law enforcement, but i also believe there are a ton of false allegations put against people, law enforcement included. It would be nice if they would follow up on this for sure.

It does seem odd that one of the girls said the officer in question tried to coerce her into sex in a room at the police station.

honest follow up should be without question, and those who are caught reporting false crimes should be dealt with accordingly. IMO there seem to be a lot more instances of cover up for criminality and BS than there are false allegations being launched, esp considering the millions that they're paying out over their wrongful convictions. I hold them to a high standard, we all should considering the shiny badge and special powers that they're given, serve and protect I think it goes🤷 😆the job of security that they are ideally supposed to provide is critical and valuable, it is the difference between life or death and helps keep communities safe when done right, that's why it's important to take such accusations seriously and investigate to determine the truth, even more so when multiple individuals are making multiple claims all about the same person.

and with all the cars and cash they are taking by violating constitutional rights in numerous ways daily, they've sure got the funds to investigate!😉😉

thanks for taking the time to comment👍

Hi, there is enough lawlessness everywhere. But bad deeds will still return in a mirror.
