Hello friends, glad to be back for another week of hard work and self-caring, yesterday i had a great day around this town since i woke up very early morning and decided to go out to clear my head, plan for the future and visit places i enjoy very much. First i went to the neighborhood of Altamira (which is located at the eastern part of the city) and walked all the way up to "La cota mil"; This place it's a freeway or an avenue that is one thousand meters above sea level and goes from the center of the city to the eastern outskirts, it has a total length of thirteen (13) kilometers and it's located right at the base of the Avila mountain, it's official name is Avenida Boyacá. Traditionally the freeway it's closed every Sunday morning from six (6) AM to one (1) PM so people all around the city can go up there and walk, jog, exercise, skateboard, ride bikes or simply have a relaxing morning under the sunlight.

Around twelve-thirty (12:30) PM after having some sun, a nice walk and taking some of those pictures, i made my way back down to the Altamira square also known as Plaza Francia and headed for my next destination. La Plaza de los Museos (Museum Square) at Bellas Artes. This is also an iconic place in this city, surrounded by the two main museums; The Art Museum and the Science Museum, also the university of arts (UNEARTE) it's right behind the square, this makes this place a fascinating environment where you can definitely find everyday all sorts of particular and interesting people, artist of every type performing or selling their crafts. The reason i went there is because recently an initiative it's taking place at the square on Sundays, where people get together to trade any kind of items; That way promoting: recycle and the preservation of goods and materials (since the economy in this country i'ts so damaged people even trade for food), for example in my case i have a shirt, a sweater and some pants that are in great conditions but i do not like the way they fit on me (some are to big and some to short) so i wanted to trade them for something else of my interest, yesterday i didn't had any luck trading although in some others occasions i have scored some sweet and cool pieces of clothing.

So as you can see, Caracas i'ts a place full of interesting options and places to visit, especially on Sundays. But the main reason of this article isn't just showing you the city, a couple of weeks ago i re-made my #introduceyourself and shared some details of my life, i also said that recently i traveled to the Estado Merida to record some music and will share the whole experience and recordings with everyone here, but to be honest the whole situation that putted me on that journey is a bit more complex that what it seems. I'm very eager to tell of course and would do very openly since it's a story of crime, injustice, love, hate and redemption in this chaotic but beautiful city during this times of uncertainty and crisis. Obviously too long to be told in only one post, so for now i'll start from the beginning and take the opportunity to show the neighborhood i grew up and have lived my whole life: Montalban.

Montalban is located at the western part of the city, it is considered a middle-class residential urbanization divided in three parts: Montalban I, II and III (the picture is actually Montalban III which is where i live), there are many public and private schools all around the place and it's common to see many kids and teenagers in the area, also one of the most iconic universities of the country are located here, the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello. At the beginning of the previous century the whole area which is three (3) kilometers long was in fact a huge hacienda or actually two haciendas (Hacienda la Vega and Hacienda Montalban) settled at the times of colonization by Spanish expeditionaries who considered this land valuable due to the fact that a part of the Rio Guaire is very close (Rio Guarie is a river that coincidentally as Avenida Boyaca, runs through all the city from west to east but now days it has been used for disposal and it's highly toxic). The Spanish settlers used the land to harvest all sorts of resources, mostly sugar and coffee and also probably vegetables. During the sixties the haciendas were sold to be urbanized and many streets and buildings where constructed.

One of the things i enjoy the most about living here is that many of the walls around the whole place are full with graffiti-es, hip hop and urban culture have a very big influence in this city and Montalban is one of the localities where i have seen the most of this type of artwork, i will leave one of the finest i have seen around but in the coming weeks i'll make a post dedicated only to this, for now just enjoy this marvelous piece.

So okay, i know i haven't been telling any crime story yet, by far i have only showed you pictures and merely talked about the neighborhood i come from, but in order to tell the whole story i have to start from here because this place is very special to me, this is where my roots grew up and leaving this part out wouldn't be fair to the whole thing. Hola amigos, me alegro de regresar para otra semana de arduo trabajo y amor propio, ayer tuve un gran día en esta ciudad ya que me desperté muy temprano en la mañana y decidí salir para aclarar mi cabeza, planificar el futuro y visitar lugares que disfruto mucho. Primero fui a la localidad de Altamira (que se encuentra en la parte este de la ciudad) y caminé hasta * "La cota mil" *; Este lugar es una autopista o una avenida que está a mil metros sobre el nivel del mar y va desde el centro de la ciudad hasta las afueras del este, tiene una longitud total de trece (13) kilómetros y está ubicado justo en la base del monte Ávila. Su nombre oficial es Avenida Boyacá. Tradicionalmente, la autopista está cerrada todos los domingos por la mañana de seis (6) a. M. A una (1) p. M. Para que la gente de toda la ciudad pueda caminar, trotar, hacer ejercicio, andar en patineta, bicicleta o simplemente tener una mañana relajante bajo la luz del sol.

Alrededor de las doce y media (12:30) de la tarde, después de tomar un poco de sol, un agradable paseo y tomar algunas de esas fotos, volví a la plaza de Altamira, también conocida como * Plaza Francia *, y me dirigí a mi próximo destino. La Plaza de los Museos (Bellas Artes). Este es también un lugar icónico en esta ciudad, rodeado de los dos museos principales; El Museo de Arte y el Museo de Ciencias, también la Universidad de las Artes (UNEARTE) está justo detrás de la plaza, esto hace de este lugar un entorno fascinante donde definitivamente puedes encontrar todos los días a todo tipo de personas particulares e interesantes, artistas de todo tipo actuando o vendiendo sus manualidades. La razón por la que fui allí es porque recientemente se lleva a cabo una iniciativa en la plaza los domingos, donde la gente se reúne para intercambiar cualquier tipo de artículos; De esa manera promocionar: reciclar y preservar bienes y materiales (dado que la economía en este país está tan dañada que las personas incluso cambian por alimentos), por ejemplo, en mi caso tengo una camisa, un suéter y unos pantalones que están en excelente estado, pero no me gusta la forma en que me quedan (algunas son demasiado grandes y otras cortas), así que quería cambiarlas por otra cosa de mi interés, ayer no tuve suerte con los cambios, aunque en otras ocasiones he conseguido algunas prendas de vestir geniales.

Como puede ver, Caracas es un lugar lleno de opciones interesantes y lugares para visitar, especialmente los domingos. Pero la razón principal de este artículo no es solo mostrarles la ciudad, hace un par de semanas volví a hacer mi #introduceyourself y compartí algunos detalles de mi vida, también dije que recientemente viajé al Estado Mérida para grabaré algo de música y compartiré toda la experiencia y las grabaciones con ustedes, pero para ser honesto, toda la situación que me puso en ese viaje es un poco más compleja de lo que parece. Estoy muy ansioso por contarlo, por supuesto, y lo hare abiertamente, ya que es una historia de crimen, injusticia, amor, odio y redención en esta ciudad caótica pero hermosa durante estos tiempos de incertidumbre y crisis. Obviamente, es demasiada información para contarlo en una sola publicación, así que por ahora comenzaré desde el principio y aprovecharé la oportunidad para mostrarles el vecindario en donde crecí y he vivido toda mi vida: Montalban.

Montalbán se encuentra en la parte occidental de la ciudad, se considera una urbanización residencial de clase media dividida en tres partes: Montalbán I, II y III (la imagen es en realidad Montalbán III, que es donde vivo), hay muchas escuelas públicas y privadas por todo el lugar y es común ver a muchos niños y adolescentes en el área, también se encuentra aquí una de las universidades más emblemáticas del país, la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. A principios del siglo anterior, toda el área que tiene tres (3) kilómetros de largo era, de hecho, una gran hacienda o, en realidad, dos haciendas (Hacienda la Vega y Hacienda Montalbán) colonizadas por los expedicionarios españoles que consideraban esta tierra valiosa, debido al hecho de que una parte del río Guaire está muy cerca (El Río Guarie es un río que casualmente como la Avenida Boyaca, atraviesa toda la ciudad de oeste a este, pero hoy en día se ha utilizado para deshechos y es altamente tóxico). Los colonos españoles usaron esta tierra para cosechar todo tipo de recursos, principalmente azúcar y café y probablemente también verduras. Durante los años sesenta se vendieron las haciendas para ser urbanizadas y se construyeron muchas calles y edificios.

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de vivir aquí es que muchas de las paredes de todo el lugar están llenas de graffitis, el hip hop y la cultura urbana tienen una gran influencia en esta ciudad y Montalbán es una de las localidades donde he visto la mayor parte de este tipo de obras de arte, dejaré una de las mejores que he visto, pero en las próximas semanas haré una publicación dedicada solo a esto, por ahora solo disfruten de esta maravillosa pieza.

Esta pieza de arte urbano es genial!, al menos para mi, siempre me ha parecido muy inspiradora y como pueden ver es enorme!

De acuerdo, sé que aún no he contado ninguna historia de crímenes, por el momento solo les he mostrado fotos y simplemente hablé sobre el vecindario del que vengo, pero para contar toda la historia tengo que comenzar desde aquí porque este lugar es muy especial para mí, aquí es donde crecieron mis raíces y dejar esta parte fuera no sería justo. Por los momentos diré adiós, ya son las once (11) PM aquí y tengo que dormir porque mañana tengo que levantarme temprano, la vida está llena de desafíos y la mejor manera de enfrentarlos es levantarse con el sol de la mañana , espero que hayas encontrado esto valioso de alguna manera e interesante, recuerda que hay más por venir, si continuas siguiéndome aprenderías mucho sobre la cultura venezolana y el estilo de vida en la ciudad de Caracas, que en este momento es un lugar que llora con la voz de mil almas golpeadas, créeme, esta ciudad es completamente absurda, por decir lo de menos, pero al mismo tiempo fascinante e inspiradora, ¡hasta pronto amigos!
