You upvote is not the issue. The issue is how rude you are trying to invade other's post to promote your personal agenda. You promote through your own post and not others' because that is outright lack of sensitivity.

Your auto reply is not correct. If you change the text, say what you do it is fine. This way you do as if those who want to join this contest need to follow you first and that is the problem.
