Today I’m sharing this easy and fun watercolor flower tutorial. It’s the perfect project if you’re new to watercolors and feel a bit intimidated. It’s so fun to do, and would be an excellent project for kids as well!

Materials:
Watercolor set
Watercolor paper
Watercolor brushes
Palette

For your basic level of watercolor painting, round brush is actually enough.
Paper is not just a paper in watercolor painting. Choosing the wrong kind of paper will lead you to great disservice. Buy a watercolor paper that is specifically design to absorb watercolor’s moisture. Choosing just any paper to do watercolor painting will result in being frustrated with the result that can unevenly dry.

Before commencing your journey on watercolor painting, ask yourself about what you really need and what you prefer in the painting..

Don’t get me wrong, you don’t need to know exactly how your painting will look when finished and of course you can change your mind in the middle of the process and try out different options..

This is important because focussing too much on the outcome and less on the process, the simple pleasure of watching the paint move with water, can be stressful. It is good to set goals and of course try to improve our skills but easing on the pressure and enjoying the process will often leads to the same or better results. Also it will help with the ability of taking risks and not sticking to recipes and tricks that are working now. Because when you stop taking risks, you also stop learning new skills.
