Orion's Horse, acrylic on canvas 48" x 36"
Orion’s Horse, Alnitak, of Zeta Orionis, bounds across the horizon in a wave of cosmic radiation, towards her Sister Stars, Alnilam and Mintaka. Alnitak is the brightest Class O Star in the sky. This blue supergiant and it’s fellow stars are better-known as Orion’s belt.
I painted this with a broken fibula and it is a testament to determination and staying strong. It has been a long and windy path, to become the Artist I am. It is now time to blaze forth, into a new frontier.
Astronomical Art is exciting to me because it is the result of new technology and epitomizes the leaps and bounds taken by humanity. It also allows me the freedom to create abstract images that have roots in actual reality. Like watching a cloud in the sky form fantastical images for the imagination, it falls upon the eye of the observer to see what they will. #minnowtowhale
