The Sacred Deer Show 2
As well as painting, writing and designing furniture, I curate shows :)
The deer is one of my most precious totems: a symbol for gentleness, kindess and love. These qualities are the only ones I want to guide me.
Painting by Martina Hoffmann
The deer has been expressed as a symbol of Spirit, Love and Nature since Paleolithic times. We find deified deer in some of the earliest cave paintings known to humanity.
The deer is also considered sacred in the pre-Christian traditions of Europe with a strong presence in the Celtic culture as the God Cerunos. Besides finding it in a dozen different cultures including Egyptian, Germanic, Greek, Hittite, Huichol, Hungarian, Scythian, Slavic and Uralic, we also find it in the large world religions of Judaism, Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism including Shinto. Last but not least its presence is strong in the new age and occult movements of the last few centuries.
This little unassuming creature has embraced us worldwide for thousands of years. In its gentle nature we find kindness, love and the Spirit of Nature venerated.
The show opened in Paris November 2017 at l’espace bleu in St Germain , Paris.
Happy with my fellow artistas.
