“Eagle Dale”

This is the painting that i made for a special friend and one of my patients, he has been paralyzed from the neck down for more than 15 years or so, and he is a very wise person, we often speak about spirituality and even extraterrestrials.

He used to be a gang member and was into drugs when he was still young, and one day he got shot in the neck that affected his spine but he was able to survive it and lived to tell about it. I always pay him a visit when im on duty wherever they assign me.

He is a very humble person and he has a lot of eagle figurines that he collects. And he gave me 2 of them is different occasions.

I understand how valuable those eagles are to him and he just gave it to me without any hesitation, i felt like he does not really have anything to offer but his favorite collection and its a piece of him that he shared with me. And i had to repay him in someway, theres no way he want cash as he does not even need it.

So what better way than to make him a painting. He had no idea that i paint, so i just told him that im making him something special but he need to tell me how does paradise look like for him. And i used his description to make a painting.

Nice blue skies and sunsets, falls, mountain and river and alot of trees. And i had to include the eagles that he gave me. So i added that to the painting as well.

When i gave it to him, we was awe struck and went in tears, as he told me that “thats how i imagined it” and he cant stop thanking me and he has his own room in the hospital, so he made a special place and have even installed a spotlight for it, And he shows it to everyone and lives to tell a story about it.

Im so thankful that i was able to make someone happy thru my art amd somehow healed his past pains and live in the moment with something to look forward to.
