Butterfly magic world.
Hello friends,
Today, I want to show you my new watercolor painting “Butterfly’s magic world”.
My husband took me once to a “Butterfly world” - it’s a place where people can come and walk through the garden covered with a net and see different kinds of butterflies and flowers.
The idea came to me when I was looking through the photos thinking of what to paint, and I thought why not to paint a butterfly that doesn’t exist. That would look different from those that I’ve seen.
Why is it magical? When I was watching butterflies flittering in the air, it felt like I’m in some kind of butterfly heaven. All these colorful little beauties are coming from nowhere and going who knows where, it was really hard to keep eye on them to take a photo.
Now let me show the whole process step by step. As you can see first I a made a drawing of the butterfly and made a watercolor background using Winsor & Newton watercolors
I used water soluble wax pastel to paint my butterfly.
I used black Artist’s Loft watercolor marker to color edges of the wings.
At the end I decided to color the black edges with a light blue pastel.
