Short history about our famous painter Zainul Abedin.
Life & education:
Zainul Abedin was a Bengali painter who was known for his paintings and drawing.
He was born in Kishoreganj on 29 December 1914. He is the founding leader of bangladeshi art.
In 1933 he admitted to Culcutta Government Art School. He learned British-European academic style here for five years. After his graduation he join the faculty of the same school. Then he went to London for higher education on art. After two years he completed his training from an art school in London. Mohammad Kibria a Bangladeshi artist one of his student. Abedin is the founder of Bangladesh's Flok Art Museum at Sonargoan. From all of his paintings famine sketches of the 1940sare mostly remarkable arts. On that time (1943) great famine occurs in bangladesh and a tribble situation was passing by Bangali people. They passes their life by starving. By burning charcoal he made his own ink for art and use packing paper. He is not only keep his paintings on board he also revealed the famine's face through the skeleton figures of bangali people
who fated to die for famine. His paintings helps bangali people by focusing foreigners in this famine.

His art "The Rebel Crow" by this he focusing on the working class people and their struggles. Once he visited Palestinian
camps in Syria and Jordan in 1970 and that moment he made 60-70 paintings.

Personal life & death:
Zainul Abedin was married with Jahanara Abedin. He died for Lung Cancer at the age of 61 on 28 May 1976 in Dhaka. Beside the Dhaka University
Central Mosque our legend was buried.
