Maestro of Video Art Paik Nam June: Fluxus

Anyone who has been educated in Korea will recall the genre of 'video art' under the name 'Nam June Paik'. Born in 1932 and dying in January 2006, he pioneered a new genre of video art, surviving the bold modern history.
The artist, who was himself a cheap figure, introduces Paik Nam-jun, who is now a legend.

There is a work that made American avant-garde composer John Cage famous. It's called '4 minutes 33 seconds'. Composed in 1952, this work shocked people at the time of the release. Because there was no sound in the music concert. There is a Korean who is deeply acquainted with John Cage.
He studied philosophy while studying in Japan, and then went to Germany to study music. John Cage is the one I met. At the time, John Cage was standing at the center of Fluxus. Joseph Boyce, and Paik Nam-june led the group 'Fluxus'. Fluxus was a group of international avant-garde artists in the 1960s, including George Mach Unas, John Cage, Joseph Boyce, and Paik Nam June. It was an art movement that was extremely anti-artistic and experimental. All artistic intentions were artificial and tried experimental works that rejected existing arts and culture.

Nam June Paik became a "terrorist of the East" in Fluxus and performed a stunning performance. He performed an absurd job of chopping down the piano on the stage and breaking the tie of John Cage, who is sitting in the audience and waiting for the performance, with scissors. Nam June Paik has already put his name in the world art world with his unique performance ahead of the creation of video art. Nam June Paik, who moved to New York, was arrested by the police after he performed a nude performance with Charlotte Moore.

He started to work on video art in my 40s.
Video art began as part of its performance. The center of video art was around the middle of the 1970s. His name was known in earnest at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1982. Part of the work that was released at this time is on display at the Nam June Paik Art Center in Korea.

Good morning Mr. Orwell was one of the best artists of his time. In Paris, Joseph Voices performed. In New York, John Cage performed. There was also a dancer, Murth Cunningham and singer Eve Mantang.
