Eight billionaires 'as rich as world's poorest half'
Yet 'Divide and Conquer' dictates that we still blame the immigrants, or the EU, or homeless people, or UKIP, or the unions, or an ageing population or communist sympathisers, or Muslims..
The early radio report I heard upon waking today announced the Oxfam report and immediately qualified it with some thinktank's response that it's not inequity we should be worrying about - but poverty. Quite how they didn't think that people might link the two is beyond me.

But in an hour - this will be yesterday's news and the asset stripping psychopathy will carry on unabated..
*sigh*
let's thank the government for creating these conditions
Governments have ceded power to corporations for decades now. The puppet show continues, the profits syphoned and all we get is hollow words.
I wish there was a real alternative that might even acknowledge the problem of global inequity - the 'thinktank' response exemplifies the lack of engagement (i.e total avoidance) with the issue. While politicians 'those in charge' (lol - 'public servants') are in league / benefiting from the situation - and the corporatocracy cannot be held to account - the divide (/ the offshore accounts) will continue to grow.
Sadly our GDP is dependent on weapons sales (here in the UK) so 'divide and conquer' is a motto unlikely to be withdrawn any time soon..
