The BMW Motorsport engineers invested a lot of passion in the development of the BMW M4 GT4. The focus was always on maximum mileage, cost-efficiency and ease of maintenance. The result: A fully-developed and reliable GT4 car, which incorporates all the expertise of BMW Motorsport. The use of tried-and-tested production technology and innovative developments from the BMW M6 GT3 guarantees high mileage and reliability. The engine and transmission, including control electronics, were taken from the BMW M4 Coupé. The BMW engineers went in a totally different direction in terms of engine control software. The BMW M4 GT4 is the first BMW Motorsport car to be equipped with power sticks, which can be pre-programmed for different engine performance levels. After over 30,000 kilometres of testing, many hours in the wind tunnel and a host of application runs, the BMW M4 GT4 made its debut in customer hands at the 24 Hours of Dubai in January 2018.
