IAGON - Decentralized Cloud Services

Introduction

It is well known by all that we are constantly generating billions of bytes of information with each photo and video we take, with each post we generate. Not only do we generate millions of bytes of information, companies, organizations and institutions constantly contribute to generate information that is stored in databases everywhere in the world. Many times this information is unsafe and unfortunately can be removed, modified or exposed to the world by malicious entities

On the other hand, most of the time, this information is accessed by certain companies, agencies and governments to generate predictions or control certain aspects of the population. However, for a human being it is impossible to analyze such a quantity of information. That is why artificial intelligence systems are necessary. But for this it is necessary to possess a high power of computational processing, which are excessively expensive.

In the present post, I will present a platform called IAGON that offers secure storage of large amounts of data and also allows the use of artificial intelligence to analyze this kind of information, using the benefits of blockchain technology and cheapening the processing costs.

Current Situation

With the growth of the internet and the emergence of the IoT (Internet of Things), which goes beyond the interconnection of computers (PCs and laptops), smartphones and tablets; interconnecting all types of devices that previously were not able to connect to the internet, such as: thermostats, automotive parts, refrigerators, washing machines, kitchens, medical and monitoring equipment (meteorology or geology ambits, satellite images, cameras and remote sensing systems, among others). All this sets of devices are forming a gigantic network that generates a large amount of information every day.


This gives rise to the concept called BigData, the accumulated information mentioned above along with the information generated by social networks constantly, create a large data accumulation that traditional data processing systems are not enough able to handle them. In general, special information gathering, storage, analysis, search, and visualization services are required to manage this kind of information.


As we can see in the graph, it is appreciated that, for 2014, the world had collected an amount of 5 ZB (zettabytes), equivalent to about 4500 piles of books so high that they reach the sun (amazing, isn't it?). And its behavior is to keep growing exponentially.

Generally this type of information is used to create predictive models for business analysis, control of the population and diseases, advertising generation, espionage, etc. But to realize this type of models and analysis, it is necessary a high computational capacity and of massive storage, highly expensive, that most of the companies does not own.


There are mass storage solutions in the market. The so-called Cloud Data Storage or Data Centers, offer the service of saving local files on remote servers, companies like Amazon. Google, Microsoft offer this type of service, consisting of a large number of servers or server farms located in special facilities. However, these data centers are centralized, so they could be vulnerable to DDoS attacks or intrusions by malicious entities. Therefore, the reliability, protection of the data and the user's privacy are threatened. In addition to this, many times the loss of files or problems of writings, affect the effectiveness of these services. A precedent case would be Amazon's massive AWS outage, where one incorrect command took down a bunch of large internet sites for several hours.


Not only is it necessary to have high computing power to handle this large amount of information, but it is also necessary to use artificial intelligence systems. Normally the term artificial intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human cognitive processes by computer or computer systems. They generally embrace learning, reasoning and self-correction processes. Nowadays, AI systems are used by large companies such as Google, which uses learning algorithms to improve the results that their users seek, as well as to select the type of advertising that suits the user based on the type of search.

However, when a form of AI becomes a product (speech recognition, autocorrection, search engines), it often stops being called AI and becomes a new technology.

Currently, AI systems perform complex pattern identifications within large data sets to produce prediction models or infer business trends. Thus becoming an industry that generates large profits, which will grow every day due to the demand of its implementation in many areas.

This technology is expensive because the algorithms to implement artificial intelligence will require more and more advanced processing, which requires the purchase of high-power computational processing units (CPU and GPU units). You can see in the graph the estimated income for typical cases of AI use.

Given this situation, IAGON emerges as a solution that offers secure decentralized storage based on blockchain technology, using artificial intelligence to connect users to BigData. Let's take a closer look at the IAGON platform.

IAGON


IAGON is an open source decentralized platform, based on the blockchain technology, which uses the processing power (CPU and GPU) and the storage capacity of the devices interconnected to the IAGON ecosystem (laptops, PCs, smartphones, tablets, etc.) all over the world as a repository of storage and computational processing. Creating a large processing grid and taking advantage of spaces not used by the devices that conform the network, to offer a secure, private and distributed storage service. Using the power of computational processing to put into operation artificial intelligence algorithms, responsible for controlling and managing the information stored by users and control and manage mining processes (miners). In this way it offers two grids, one for storing and one for processing, both based on the blockchain. IAGON offers competitive and lower prices compared to the competition.

In this way, IAGON allows small businesses or individual to make use of a secure and decentralized storage system. It also offers high computational power at low cost. So developers and companies can develop or invest in projects that consume processing resources without having to spend a lot of money on high processor power equipments. Thus, investing on developing projects such as speech recognition, satellite image processing or facial recognition, among others.

Smart Computing Grid


The Smart Computing Grid represents the network of devices interconnected to the IAGON system, whose function is to provide the resources needed by customers (storage space and processing power). It also makes use of the storage space and the computational power of the miners' equipment when they do not use them (for which they also receive compensation or tokens).

AI-Tracker System


IAGON makes use of more than 100 algorithms and methods for artificial intelligence (machine learning) that control and manage the Smart Grid. This component or 'brain' is the so-called AI-tracker system. AI-tracker is a dynamic learning system in charge of distributing the client's files in the blockchain, dividing them into slices and encrypting them. Allocating them into the storage spaces of all devices of the grid; and also optimizes the process of assigning the computational processing tasks of the network devices, required by the clients (using idle computing processing without interrupting normal device processing). In addition, AI-tracker system assigns the tasks to the miners using the proof of variance method (which will be explained later).

The AI-Tracker system learns through the reinforcement learning method. This method allows the system to make decisions in a totally dynamic environment. Therefore, it is an active and continuous learning process.

Tangle Technology

Tangle technology is used to solve certain problems associated with the scalability of blockchain technology; through this technology, IAGON can support large amounts of information (BigData) as well as more amount of processing tasks.

Secure Lake Technology

The BigData has recently acquired an architecture called Data Lake, which allows storing all kinds of information. The problem with this architecture is that it is generally compromised, since it is a central database, once it is hacked, the intruder can swim through all the information in the system. IAGON implements a technique called Secure lake. Secure lake is based on the advantages of the blockchain technology, since the information is encrypted (using military encryption algorithms) and divided into pieces and distributed in all the devices of the network, anonymously. Thus ensuring the complete protection of the information. In such a way, if an intruder takes a piece and manage to decipher it, he could not identify its origin or associate it with any other piece of the same file.

IAGON’s Architecture

The IAGON platform consists of three main sections: the system of artificial intelligence, blockchain (including mining) and encryption protocol. The blockchain will allow the data to be subdivided into blocks and distributed and copied between the nodes of the network. Each block will contain a hash (using the SHA 256 algorithm) to ensure that their content is not altered. The AI system will be responsible, as mentioned above, for assigning the tasks and the block of data to miners. It sends them data block to find the matching signatures. The blocks will be distributed through the proof of variance algorithm. The more data the miners process, the greater their reward. In addition, the AI system will be responsible for encrypting and decrypting the information (using AES 256).

Data Mining

Miners play a very important role within the IAGON ecosystem. IAGON, as mentioned above, uses the "Proof of Variance" mechanism to reward its miners, unlike conventional systems that use Proof of Work and Proof of Stake.

The "Proof of Variance" mechanism organizes the miners in groups depending on their contribution (speed and amount of data they can handle). This mechanism is based on algebraic and probabilistic functions that determine the classification of the miner. This allows the miners to receive more reward depending on the investment of resources assigned to their equipments. Miners do not need to store any processed data. The blocks are allocated equally among all the miners.The miners can decide which type of blockchain they will work on: Ethereum or Tangle.

IAG Token

The IAG is the native token of the IAGON platform, allowing customers to pay for the services they use (file storage and information processing). In the same way, IAG tokens are used to reward mining processes. Besides, IAG tokens can be exchanged for fiat money.

IAGON Benefits

  • IAGON will change the cloud computing industry by introducing a decentralized, secure, low-cost, task-based storage and processing service supported by an artificial intelligence system of continuous learning.

  • The IAGON platform is supported by its artificial intelligence system, and a reinforcement learning method, which is responsible for optimizing the distribution of the files in the decentralized storage system and assign tasks to the miners equally. Ensuring reliability and full access to the platform.

Conclusion

IAGON presents a secure solution for storing large amounts of information without requiring investment in expensive equipment, or worrying about the security and backup of information. Unlike conventional data storage methods, IAGON is a decentralized platform based on the blockchain, which makes the destruction of information impossible because it is distributed and replicated in many interconnected devices. In addition to being backed by Blockchain and Tangle technology, it is also backed by hundreds of artificial intelligence algorithms that will ensure the best allocation and management of information.

In addition, it not only offers information storage service but also offers the computing power of the equipment that make up the IAGON network (Smart grid).

These represent a solution for those companies or individuals that do not have the resources to invest in specialized storage equipment or high computational power.

For past several months Ive been reading a lot about AI and still it's first time I'm hearing about IAGON.

iagon has an interesting approach to help solve challenges which AI are currently facing.

So to summarize (Im not sure if I understood well). Iagon is not a marketplace for AI businesses, right? They are aming to provide cloud storage and processing power? Which obviously would reduce operating costs of running any AI?

That indeed would allow small businesses (within this industry) to move forward much faster.

What I understood is that IAGON proposes in the first place a platform that uses the free space of the interconnected devices and offer the storage service. In 2nd place, offering the computing power of the same devices to perform tasks, specifically, indicates that for clients to develop AI projects, which are the ones that consume the most cpu and gpu processing and that is the trend of the market today.

But I think that super processing power could be used for other projects.

Hi! Sorry for the delay. It is very interesting that IAGON can use any device connected to the Internet as an element to extend its storage network. In addition to increasing the processing power as well. However, its interface is not so simple to install, I tried it and it was very difficult to install a node on my own computer. In the end I could not make it work.
