Wonderful world of mushrooms
Most people think mushrooms are plants, but this is not true. Mushrooms (fungi) form a separate group in the living world.
Their role is to reuse and recycle the dead organisms. Many species of fungi attached to the roots of the trees - so they live in symbiosis with plants.
Their shapes, colors, sizes vary widely. Some of them are edible, some have healing power, some modify consciousness and some are deadly poisonous. Never take a mushroom you don't know, or not sure what species is that!
Thank you. I didn't know that mushrooms weren't plants. Its one of those pieces of information I feel I should have known. Now I'm off to find what the definition of a plant actually is.
