Introduction

When we think of the internet, the image of a vast global network with limitless information and universal accessibility comes to mind. Simply enter any imaginable topic into a search engine and up pops what you're looking for. The fact that the internet allows us to connect with people on the other side of the world tricks us into thinking that it has global reach and accessibility.

Reality is... this isn't the case. What you perceive as the internet is going to be wildly different from what someone on the other side of he globe sees as the internet. This is because of government regulation, censorship, infrastucture failure, connectivity problems and capitalist greed on data cost.

What we think to be a universal and fair internet, is no more than any other bureaucratic mess.

So what is the answer?
A Decentralised Internet. A Global Extranet.
Bandz Network

About BandZ Network

BandZ is a global extranet project that incorporates both providers, consumers and gateways. Functioning on the blockchain, BandZ values connectivity over anything else. Their aim: to build a network where internet becomes affordable and accessible for users in any location rich or poor. With the ultimate vision to be able to fund your phone or ISP bill free of out of pocket expense, simply by keeping your machine running.

By addressing the current issues facing internet users, being: expensive price of internet services, mobile roaming fees, and added premiums just for security services. BandZ is going to make enterprise-grade software products accessible and cheap to even the newest users. These products include: VPNs, mesh networking, remote proxies, bandwidth sharing/exchange, and more.

BandZ improves on many of the weaknesses found with the current user’s internet experience, by incorporating a decentralised model on the blockchain. The technical barriers for adoption of security services will be an issue of the past and internet can be used even by those with the weakest mobile infrastructures.

Change is Coming to the Internet Access Industry

By switching from your current government controlled, expensive, slow internet network to BandZ' network you can expect a whole new level of access.

  • BandZ Network Advantage
. Less downtime due to not relying on infrastructure
. Free access to content (no regulation)
. Accessible at fair cost prices
    . No country locked accessibility

Decentralised Internet Data Safety

At its core BandZ is a connectivity company, but part of connecting people is keeping their private information and data safe. Privacy is less of a "bonus feature" and more of a user's right, which is something a lot of current internet providers fail to realise.

End-to-end encryption on their network means that your information is safe though the entire connection. Your internet traffic belongs to you. BandZ also has plans to implement smart contract based networks utilising a conglomerate of satellites, wifi towers and mesh mobile access points.

Exchangeable Bandwidth

Internet usage runs off bandwidth, the more you access the internet the more bandwidth you use. Current models by internet providers require you to signup for a package and pay for a months worth of bandwidth at a time, meaning you get charged for the cap whether you use it or not. Not to mention the inflated costs if you go over your cap amount of bandwidth.

Heaven forbid if internet providers became corrupt and started charging more bandwidth for accessing certain sites, and not just the internet in general.
cough.... cough....

NET NEUTRALITY

A lot of the time, we are limited by how we can attain our bandwidth, other than a few major companies that offer the service in our country. The purchase of bandwidth is made even more difficult when to topic of travelling abroad comes up.

BandZ is all about bandwidth commoditisation. This leads to the natural formation of a marketplace, which will improve the rate at which bandwidth can be purchased and used, with different markets selling bandwidth based on location, and type.

What about Locations with Poor Infrastructure?

BandZ have come up with network pairing.

To make a genuinely free and decentralized web, BandZ will use pairing all over the world through residential and mobile IPs. One client's residential IP is generally enough to provide connectivity service for another user's mobile usage.

When enough residential IPs have been combined in a network, you have a system equipped for dealing with substantial business necessities such and application testing and site organisation.

Mesh Networks

When multiple devices connect to each other and create a large region of wireless communication, a mesh network is created. These networks are able to improve internet accessibility and decreases congestion speed.

A mesh network whose nodes are all connected to each other is a fully connected network.

The BandZ projects uses provider nodes which kick out bandwidth from BandZ internal traffic to the outer world internet. The consumer nodes then accept application traffic (socks5, iptables, vpn, etc) and send it to providers. The gateway nodes finally provide services like STUN, TURN and GeoIP resolution, receiving a tip for their services. All participants can be any combination of nodes at any given time. "

Free of Roaming Charges

When you purchase bandwidth from your internet provider, you do so under the assumption that that bandwidth will be used in its country of origin. This makes accessing the internet when travelling a very expansive hassle. Because your bandwidth is location locked, you accrue large data usage fees when overseas.

These fees are often inflated further by the fact that it is costing you money for your mobile device to roam for connection in a foreign land. Meaning your paying a premium and not even using the internet.

BandZ has a solution. By using bandwidth as a commodity users can purchase, trade, or lend bandwidth to other people and access location specific bandwidth wherever they may be.

Thoughts and Uses

The idea of a truly decentralised internet is a very exciting one. A concept that BandZ hopes to incorporate.

A creative illustration of the process involved in creating a decentralised internet and the value it holds in the global community was recently depicted in a HBO television series Silicon Valley Season 5. Which brings a combination of technology and humour to our T.V sets in a version of what BandZ is working towards bringing to reality.

To many a decentralised internet means an opportunity for cheaper, better, and less regulated internet.

To those living in poorer, non-democratic countries a decentralised internet will bring so much more in terms or freedom, access to information and global connection.
