Two Coloured Sliding Box Tutorial

This is a model of my own design inspired by Robert Foord's facebook post in Spot the Creator

1. Colour side down. Divide the paper into an eight by eight grid.
2. Fold each corner to the base of the third square from the top. Unfolding as you go.
3. Fold in two opposing sides one square width and turn over.

1. Mountain fold one square width either side of the centre.
2. Fold in the ends along the precreased diagonals.
3. The model should start to look like an anvil.
4. Fold a second model.

Construction

1. Turn both models over and open then slightly. It should look like two square sides and a rectangle centre.
2. Slide the square of one model over the square of the second.
3. Open the folded over edges just enough to fold over the edge of the second model locking it in place.
4. Recollapse the model back into the box shape.
5. Turn the model over and hook the folded over edges of the first model around bottom edge of the second model.

Congratulations you have finished the model.

To slide open gently tug either side only one squares length out. If you go too far the model will come apart.
