if this is true it is really very sad, because to harvest an organ you have to be a surgeon, imagine all that studying to end up becoming a criminal.
I agree, it is a sad tale. There's a huge profit motive here and I imagine it plays a big role.
In the case of dead soldiers, I guess the decision to harvest is much easier than with 'living donors', but also with live donors they may only remove a kidney which would allow victims to go on living (still despicable).
From a psychological point of view, by 'othering' the enemy and reducing them to a sub-human category this would allow them to proceed without remorse.
