My Orchids Paphiopedilum

Paphiopedilum attract our attention not only by the unusual form of the flower, but also by the velvety and spotted leaves that shimmer in the sun.

Orchids of the Pafiopedilum are divided into several groups:

One-flowered:
These orchids on an elegant, long stem have one or two open flowers.

Multiflorous:
They have 3 or more colors. These orchids grow slowly, until the first flowering passes from 6 to 9 years. They are more demanding in the care.

"Revolver flowering":
They open one kidney, and then the next one is formed from it. After 6 weeks, the first flower fades, and the second - opens, a new kidney appears from it. This is repeated up to six times.

American hybrids:
This orchid has large single flowers

Depending on the temperature requirements, Paphiopedilum is distinguished:

1. Orchids of a moderately warm temperature regime. This includes almost all the multicolored Paphiopedilum, i.e. Orchids of "revolver" bloom, when one flower fades and another appears on the same peduncle.
2. Orchids of a warm temperature regime. This includes almost all Paphiopedilum with spotted leaves.
3. Orchids of moderate cold temperature regime. This includes Paphiopedilum with narrow green leaves.
4. Orchids of cold temperature regime. This includes Paphiopedilum with wide green leaves.
