Are you optimistic that our species is heading in the right direction, overall? Why or why not?
This is a tough call as "the right direction" may mean different things. If the right direction means reproducing en masse then we are. If it means being at the top of the food chain or dominating the whole earth, again we are headed "right" However, we are failing to realize that the means by which we are doing this will ultimately bring about our demise. This means we are headed for extinction.
