To me the song is about trying to communicate to someone you love but not being able to get through.
Sometimes you just have to be direct and tell someone straight how it is. Its not easy to be direct and forward with those you love. We should never jeopardise our relationships by confronting a friend in a direct way but in some situations it is all you have left.
