Open Mic Week 45: Triad

in #openmic7 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemers!

Back again for Open Mic Week 45. I've been meaning to write another medical blog soon, but life as a resident keeps me pretty busy. Hopefully soon. Luckily, I found some time to get the guitar out this week. This is a cover by David Crosby called "Triad." An awesome song, if I may say so!

As legend at least portrays, this was the song that broke up Crosby from the Byrds in the late 60s. Some thought that a song about a love triangle between two girls and a guy was a little bit controversial. I'm not sure that is the official reason Crosby left, but it is at least an interesting story haha.

Hope all enjoyed! My phone ran out of memory at the end...so the very ending is cut, but the whole song is essentially complete.

Feel free to follow for more posts on music/health/science/travel/and whatever else I come up with.

Cheers! Have a GREAT week.

ooo there is such a good ring on your voice, so felt. i love this performance mister feldman. really like it when you sing to that simple picking, you do have a voice I would love to hear harmonize against mine. I always love your cover song picks.

Thank you so much for the kind words. It would be great to harmonize with you in the future. Keep producing the fire! This song is full of passion and it was a fun one to do!

Dude, this might be your best vocal performance IMO.

You usually don't sing like this either from what I've seen.

In fact, this whole song has a very unexpected vibe which I'm really diggin' !

The vamping verse and then the change to the pre is really cool and elevating and how the chorus hook is paralleled by the guitar.

Sucks it got cut off during your little vocal solo (maybe u shouldn't have talked so much a the beginning lol j/k)

Very interesting songwriting from my point of view.

Thanks a lot man. I feel like I have my moments on vocals. My range is better in the lower range, but I thought I would try my best to sing higher because the song is more powerful that way.

This song really is a masterpiece. One of the main changes I made to the arrangement was playing more single notes to match the voice during the chorus.

Thanks for stopping by man, much appreciated!

I agree with jaybird on this one - one of your best. The sound of your voice in this higher register is fantastic and seems more controlled. I also thought your guitar playing was tightening up. Fantastic Brother!

Thanks, brother. Workin' that vocal range. I was happy to share this song with the community. I will try to find that energy again in the future. I had just learned the song, but the chords are really awesome/complex.

Very cool performance! I like The Byrds, especially 8 Miles High, as I'm fond of 60s Psychedelia. This song is new to me. I'll have to find the original on YouTube. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for listening! Yeah it's one of those hidden gems for sure. There are lots of versions. I think my favorite version is off the live 1971 CSNY album.

Amazing O_O Followed and
