Open Mic Week 55 : Necromantica (original song)
Here is my week 55 entry.
It's a necromancer's love song.
Full Lyrics:
Come with me my love, I long to hear-o
Make life and death our own
We'll plant our fear down deep out in the garden
and watch our flowers grow
We'll plant our fear, when harvest's here
we'll walk back in the garden
and reap what we did sow
We'll plant our fear, when harvest's here
we'll walk back in the garden
and reap what we did sow
We'll burn those boxes high upon the hill-o
make life and death our own
with horns and forms that have long been forgotten
we'll make what we both know
With wine and bread and golden thread
we'll walk back in the garden
and make what we both know
With wine and bread and golden thread
we'll walk back in the garden
and reap what we did sow
The garden's replaced by the shadows and the wasteland
The Underworld remembers
Screaming their names
the infinite serpent below
Time is a gate, and the gate's ever open
The Underworld remembers
Screaming our names, making life and death our own
Life and death our own
That tapestry behind you and this song! Swoooon!
Ha! I didn't even think of the fact that I'm singing about a garden with that tapestry behind me.
I got the tapestry at the renaissance festival in Minnesota. It looks vaguely Russian, and it's HUGE:)
Very nice song. Thank you.
Thanks @luzcypher :)
Aside from the "necro" thing harboring an element of "creep" that is (to me) unavoidable, I totally loved this composition on every other imaginable level! Loved the stops and starts toward the end... Awesome Tarot-Man!
Thanks. I've played this with a 6 piece band, and it's pretty cool. The part with the stops is fairly metal-ish with the whole band.
When I play it with them, there's a third part with a Skyrim(video game) inspired poem in it.
It should be kind of creepy, since it is the song a necromancer sings to attract a necromancer mate:)
Cool lyrics and very original sounding tune. bravo!
Thank you!
i really enjoyed this... love the dip in melody.. garden' sooo cool, great voice as well, reminds me of tom petty
