Steemit Open Mic Week 73 "Treme Song" by Martin Sanders & Sebastien Carvot

Hi fellow steemians, this is my entry for Steemit @openmic Week 73, and this week I'm joined for some musical shenanigans by my good friend, from Paris, Sebastien Carvot.

Sebastien is just waiting approval for his steemit account, so he'll hopefully behere on steemit in a couple of days, so please keep an eye out for him in the #introduceyourself and here at future open mics. He's a zany character and an excellent gypsy jazz guitarist, singer, magician and all round entertainer and I'm very pleased to introduce Sebastien to steemit and to introduce you fellow steemians to Seb.

One gypsy jazz guitarist and one blues guitarist have a go at some rootsy FUNK!!

So anyway, this is what we do when we get together and drink beer!! We hope you all enjoy it, we had an absolute ball playing it, this was the 3rd beer and the 3rd take!

This track really shows off his rhythmic guitar skills excellently, it's something we knocked up one night after drinking beers and listening to some of the music from that great TV series Treme. It's part the theme tune "Treme Song" and partly another that I can't for the life of me remember the name of, I'll edit in soon as I find out/remember.

I met Seb in Laos six years ago when both on our travels and we kept meeting up and playing music in different places in Loas and Cambodia together. A couple of years later he came to visit the UK for a couple of weeks and we went out and played music a couple of times in Nottingham. Then he came to visit the winter of last year, got himself a job and a cool place to live and has played gigs with some of Nottingham's finest musicians. He has only just head back home to France. It looks like he might have to pop back for couple of days in a week or so's time and if he has time he's hoping to drop back in for another jam and, if we can, we'll hopefully record another @openmic entry.

I'll be giving Seb half the SBD from this post so hopefully he'll have a little bonus as soon as he arrives here.

So fellow steemians, please say hello to Sebastien.......... This shot was taken around midday on a particularly good walk of shame home from an all night party. We were walking down the road doing our own version of the New Orleans style 2nd line dance through the backstreets of Nottingham, playing the very tune we've recorded here. I don't think the young lad on his scooter knew what to make of us really.
