En el año 1991 el cantante, bailarín, compositor Michael Jackson publicó el tema "Heal the World", es un tema para atraer la atención de los niños que sufren y viven en países del tercer mundo, especialmente en Burundi, que por entonces estaba atravesando un momento duro.
Han pasado 26 años de haber salido este tema y actualmente los niños todavía se enfrentan a las peores formas de injusticias, violaciones, matrimonios prematuros y la prostitución que han sido aceptados como lo normal debido a las tradiciones y las diversas prácticas culturales. Otros incluyen la exposición de niños a la pobreza, explotación laboral, abuso y la falta de calidad en la educación y servicios de salud.
El significado de esta canción es en relación a los derechos de la infancia. Los tonos utilizados en esta canción es muy amable y pacífico con el objetivo de promover la paz y la armonía, los sonidos de su voz están colmados de amor. Michael debió haber sentido una inmensa compasión hacia los que sufren, especialmente los niños. Muchas veces las personas más privilegiados pasan por alto el sufrimiento de la humanidad, incluyendo el de los mas pequeños y jóvenes. La motivación de Michael pudo ser alentar a la gente a hacer un mundo mejor para la humanidad, con un especial énfasis en los niños y los jóvenes que son mayoría, no sólo en Zambia, sino en el resto del ,mundo. Tristemente.
Es hora de abrir los ojos por el mundo, y ayudar al projimo, no nos quedemos de brazos cruzados, nosotros mismo seremos la salvacion de la humanidad por la humanidad.
