🎸 Steemit Open Mic #103 Week | Zombie | The Cranberries cover

in #openmic6 years ago (edited)

¡Hola Steemit!

Letra

Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head, they are fightin'
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their guns
In your head, in your head, they are cryin

In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie-ie, oh

Another mother's breakin'
Heart is takin' over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken

It's the same old theme
Since nineteen-sixteen
In your head, in your head, they're still fightin'
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their guns
In your head, in your head, they are dyin'

In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie

What is zombie?

"Zombie" is a protest song by Irish rock band The Cranberries, written about the 1993 IRA bombing in Warrington, and in memory of two young victims, Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry. It was released in September 1994 as the lead single from their second studio album, No Need to Argue (1994). It preceded the release of No Need to Argue by two weeks. The song was written by the band's lead singer Dolores O'Riordan, and reached No. 1 on the charts in Australia, Belgium, France, Denmark and Germany. It won the "Best Song" award at the 1995 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Our version

As a musician i am fan of this song since i can remeber . We wanted to experiment and make our own acoustic version with a violín. Although the song is too high for our singer, he play with the backing vocals to generate a different color. I made the bass line on the guitar to balance the song with the highs notes.

Enjoy!

Hermano, eres quien canta?
