Steemit Open Mic Week 68 / Original song / The Tower That Overlooks the Mountains

Here's my second ever entry for Steemit openmic.
This is a song I've written yesterday, played on a slightly out of tune guitar with a lot of feeling.

lyrics:

She says she's not sad
she even might be happy
in fact she feels she's both
of those things
at the same time
and isn't it a crime
to have to ease such a mind
with lithium carbonate pills
for a happy depression

She's 18 years old
but she feels so much older
she thinks she's here from
the beginning of time
and isn't it sad
she thinks I am funny as we
laugh at the jokes about
human existance and how
everything eventually
feels just the same

Miriam says
nobody chooses
their own medication
everything's the same
just like that show
we live The Days Of Our Lives

they should have named her Winter
that way she would understand
the meaning of life
and isn't it strange
to take advice from a kid
'cause you're 600 miles
away from home in France?
