Steemit Open miC week 98 "Red House"/Jimi Hendrix cover by @gibber
36 consecutive weeks for me and the "openmic" contest
I have always loved this 1966 12 bar blues from the great Jimi Hendrix...
The backing track is played with my "looper" pedal through a dedicated amp. The lead is another dedicated amp plus wah and tube screamer type of pedals. The mic is a shure 58. All this channels through an old mackie 12 then a Beringer interface into Audacity. The vid is shot from and Olympus sz-12 and put all together with Window Movie Maker.
"Red House"
There's a Red House over yonder
That's where my baby stays
There's a Red House over yonder, baby
That's where my baby stays
Well, I ain't been home to see my baby,
in ninety nine and one half days.
'Bout time I see her,
Wait a minute something's wrong here
The key won't unlock the door.
Wait a minute something's wrong baby,
Lord, have mercy, this key won't unlock this door,
something's goin' on here.
I have a bad bad feeling
that my baby don't live here no more.
That's all right, I still got my guitar
Look out now . . .
I might as well go on back down
go back 'cross yonder over the hill
I might as well go back over yonder
way back over yonder 'cross the hill,
(That's where I came from.)
'Cause if my baby don't love me no more,
I know her sister will!

Right on thanks for dropping by and listening ;9)
Way to bring down the blue house, brother Gibber!
Nice!
Once the mash-up is done, you and I have to do some type of collab, bro... I can feel it! I dunno, I'm thinkin' maybe something from CCR - where we can go back and forth with vocals and guitars... That might be the ticket... What say you, bro? Any suggestions?
That sounds like a lotta fun... maybe some born on the bayou ;9)
You're reading my mind, brother!
