Open Mic Week 40 - Crazy Little Funk (Original improvisation)

in #openmic7 years ago

Week 40 finally!, i wanted to do another multi instrument piece, so i came up with this little crazy funk improvisation:

This was all improvised, i just copied some drums grooves first, and started to improvise with each instrument one by one: 1st bass, 2nd acoustic guitar, 3rd keys, and finally electric lead guitar, its all crazy LOL, i did not repeat any take, i just played once and that's it, i didn't wanted to make something very complex...

Hope you enjoy it!
Best regards!
Rafael.

excellent work

thanks my friend!

Fun stuff, I enjoyed that!

But using the pitch bend with an organ sound on the keyboard is huge no-no :P Use the leslie instead ;)

LOL you are probably right, i was just making something crazy :P

Generally speaking, I'm all for experimentation and when playing something like that my left hand would always be glued to the pitch bend wheel, but organ sounds just don't bend well and it sounds quite unnatural as the real instruments don't have this. So bending the organ would sound weird to most ears out there and the samples themselves are rarely done with bending in mind. But when you use the leslie thing, it actually makes the organ sound more organic if you would pardon the pun :D

Of course, I could clearly see you were experimenting and I only pointed that out jokingly, hopefully the :P at the end gave it away... ;)

Hehe i was just making some nonsense improvisation, i am not a keyboardist anyway!, i could use a collaboration from you! bring it on! :D :D
