Esta canción es un Vals escrito en 1955 por el compositor venezolano José Enrique Sarabia. La canción fue popularizada internacionalmente en 1959 por Nat King Cole, hay más de 800 versiones, la canción fue compuesta muy joven tan solo con 15 años, luego de ver la película mexicana de 1953 titulada Ansiedad, dirigida por Miguel Zacarías y protagonizada por Pedro Infante y Libertad Lamarque, comenzó a escribir la canción homónima, de la película que solo tomó el título. , no el tema.
Ansiedad además de Ser una canción sumamente hermosa es un reflejo del momento por el cual estoy pasando al estar aquí en Colombia lejos de la mujer que amo, cosa que vivió el autor, pues el crea su obra cuando se trasladado a Caracas para estudiar tecnificación petrolera en la Escuela Técnica Industrial, dejando a su novia en Isla Margarita, según sus propias palabras "Ansiedad la motivó indudablemente tanta soledad y pesar”. El día que la termino, coincidió a la casualidad de cumplir sus 15 años, el 13 de marzo de 1955.
