RE: STEEMIT OPEN MIC WEEK 65 - In the Vampyre's Garden by @bennettitalia (original song)

Well, that was unexpected and pretty weird.

LOL!😂

I suppose I've never heard you and didn't know what I was in for.

What was your motivation for this song? It's so interesting but doesn't necessarily reflect real life. Or does it?

Super fun video editing too!

I think it does 😜

But yes, many of my songs feature interesting metaphors, sometimes involving gothic or fantasy or sci fi imagery. This song is less accessible than some of the others, but the lyrics have a meaning to me that made it perfect for the first song posted.

oh! My motivation... well the song is about the idea of redemption, that no matter how much of a monster you might think you are, there is always some part of you that is innocent (thus the vampire children), and capable of change. That no one is ever too far gone to find their way back to love and connection if they want to.

Well, that's just lovely.

And I totally agree. Though, depending on how far they are, it's a lot harder for them to DECIDE to turn back. Impossible? No way. Improbable? Sometimes. 😏

I'm excited to see more from you now. 😍

Yay! I'm glad 😁

I do agree about the improbability after a certain point. It's possible, I think, to become so twisted that one utterly fails to recognize it, because in the extreme one loses the ability to feel ("...if you forgot to feel..."). That difficulty of recognition and decision is also what the song is about. I'm singing to those who are lost, and I guess to those parts of myself that feel lost, and encouraging and reminding that there's still a choice. For now at least 😉
